First, there’s the name. In a ski town, the name Warming Hut cuts right to the chase and invokes feelings of coziness, peace and relaxation.
Then there’s the cheery exterior with its Victorian-style architecture. You feel like you’re about to step into a welcoming Victorian home and you’re not wrong.
There’s a reason Mountain Town Magazine recently featured this excellent little Breckenridge restaurant and bar.
“The Warming Hut feels like you’re arriving at someone’s cozy Victorian home and in many ways you are. Ms. Stacey Brooks, the owner of the Warming Hut welcomes everyone sincerely upon arrival and her highly attentive staff treat you like you’re a favorite relative visiting for a holiday.” -Pepper Hamilton, MTN Town Magazine
The decor is classic/historical meets modern with a combination of glass from the 1800s and sleek furniture. The walls feature modern artwork from various artists.
MTN Town also notes seating is plentiful, so bring the whole gang.
Give Me Comfort. Give Me Cheese.
If you’re looking for comfort food, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some warmers for sure:
Three Cheese Mac n Cheese
goat cheese, white cheddar & parmesan
served with homemade ketchup, garlic mash, mushroom-tarragon gravy
crispy falafel waffles stacked on slices of grilled eggplant, roasted tomato, summer squash, caramelized red onion, basil pesto
And finally, meat. There is a lot of meat on the menu, or you can add protein to your dish, choosing from items like brisket and apricot-cranberry wild boar, elk jalapeno or pheasant spinach mushroom sausage (OMG).
On the Healthier Side
If you’re not in the mood for stick-to-your-ribs fare, The Warming Hut has a “fresh menu” you can ask about and some great greens, like the Warm Brussels Sprouts, Cranberries & Burrata Salad (creamy burrata surrounded by arugula, spinach, pear and crispy sausage; balsamic reduction drizzle).
And by the way, you won’t find any happy hour here. At The Warming Hut they go all the way with “blissful hour” from 3-5:30 which includes drink specials and small plates.
On warmer days, enjoy the shaded patio with great views of the ski area.
Add The Warming Hut to your dining list. I know I would make this place a priority after a long day of outdoor adventure!
