Breckenridge was quite the watering hole back in the day. During its early years in the 1800s, the small mining town was home to 18 saloons.
During your next Lodge by The Blue stay, relive the history, (and enjoy some spirits along the way) on a Swinging Door Saloon Tour. Tours are available April through September on select days at 5 p.m.
The outdoor guided tour (with some indoor stops) is about 90 minutes long and will take you through some of the very establishments that have survived (in some form) since the early days.
You’ll sample drinks from the Breckenridge Distillery (the world’s highest elevation distillery) and home of one of the top three bourbons in the world. There are even souvenir distillery flasks available at a discount for tour-goers.

If this kind of spirit isn’t your thing, perhaps another kind of spirit is. Check out the many guided tours available from the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance (like the Paranormal Investigations tour coming in July).
