Explore the Mountains at Breckenridge’s Epic Discovery

As white gives way to green, the scenery in Breckenridge grows richer by the day. There’s no better way to enjoy the sun and jaw dropping scenery than the new (opened 2017) Epic Discovery on-mountain adventure at Peak 8.

Get a bird’s eye view of three of Colorado’s famous 14ers, including Mt. Quandary next to Lodge by The Blue. Zipline through the White River National Forest. Explore the environment on the Alpine Loop hiking trail. You can spend an hour or a full day when you customize your Epic Discovery pass.

The adventure starts at Peak 8 Base Camp. Here are some of the highlights.

Expedition Zip Line Tour on Peak 7

You’ll hit eight zip lines in two hours! Guests will travel between 10 towers and walk a 200-foot-long aerial bridge with beautiful views of Summit County.

Alpineer Challenge Course

Take on 15 different challenges on this course, at the base of Horseshoe Bowl. Try light log swinging or test your balance with shoe-to-rope balancing maneuvers. This course is open to teens and adults and has a shaded area for those who just want to observe.

Interpretive Trail with Animal Abilities and Story Stakes

The high-alpine environment in Breckenridge has its own ecosystem of plants and animals. Learn about flora and fauna, mountain wetlands, impacts of the gold rush and additional history of the area on this 0.75-mile interpretive hike.

Gold Summit Climbing Wall

How high can you go? Test your skills on this 40-foot rock climbing wall at the top of the Colorado SuperChair.

Replenish and Relax

Don’t worry, there are plenty of places to eat and drink during your Epic Discovery. The following options are open for breakfast and lunch: Ski Hill Grill, The Smokehouse BBQ on the Ski Hill Grill Deck, the Vista Haus, and an all new BBQ offering on the Vista Haus’ recently expanded outdoor deck.

Best of all, you can feel good about your Epic Discovery pass because 1% of all summer activity revenue will be donated to The Nature Conservancy for forest health restoration projects.
